Just Waiting
While I’m waiting, I won’t look at time.
These moments we have they’re mine all mine.
And I’ll be praying that our sunsets never set,
Yep, I’ll be praying for that first time we met.
While I’m waiting I’ll listen real close
To each pitter pater, more sublime than most.
Warmer eventides and calmer seas
Casting conversations of you and of me.
And while I’m waiting the laughter we’ll share,
With brothers and sister with black, brown and multicolored hair.
Man oh man how we’ll carry on, yes we carry on without a care.
While I’m waiting
I’ll write your name within the sand.
Like hearts leaping for joy and prisoners freed from fetters and bands.
While I’m waiting.
While I’m waiting with time standing still,
With excitement in every moment, joy in every cup
Sunshine nestled in each lemon peel.
Oh imagine our waiting, an-ticipating
Each page of every book and each one reading anew.
Enjoyed by only a select few.
So while I’m waiting and signing every book
I’ll peek in each and every one to get one final look.
With every chapter of every book, I hope today I’ll see,
That every page that’s filled with you is underscored with me.
So close those pages and wait here with me,
And remember our waiting, just waiting.
